Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park from Kigali.
Immediately upon your arrival at Kigali airport, our company representative together with an experienced Rwandan safari driver guide will meet you and take you through a quick briefing about this 3 days Bwindi gorilla trekking safari from Kigali and then after driving heading to northwestern Kigali passing through several craft shops in the city, local markets and the Kigali genocide memorial centre to have a look at the remains of 1994 genocide victims, which claimed lives of over 800,000 people.
Have your picnic lunch at one of the restaurants in the city and later embark on a journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park – the home of mountain gorillas passing through Katuna border. Arrive at your lodge in the evening for dinner.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking.
This is the day for trekking mountain gorillas. Have morning breakfast at a booked lodge and then embark on the journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park headquarters, a short distance from the lodge and be briefed about the dos and don’ts to follow when trekking gorillas. During this time, you will be allocated the gorilla group to visit and allowed to ask any question regarding gorilla trekking before setting off.
The activity usually takes 1-7 hours depending on the movements made by these animals and the group you are going to trek. As soon as you reach them, a maximum of one hour will be given to you in their presence to take exciting photos. Head back to the ranger station for your certificate and drive back to your lodge for meals and night stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Kigali and fly back home.
Have a misty breakfast at your lodge, while enjoying incredible views of Bwindi impenetrable national park and drive to Kigali. During this drive, take in the views of terraced land in the hills of Kabale, tea plantations and rice gardens in northern Rwanda. Arrive at the airport in Kigali in the afternoon to catch your departure flight.
