This is an amazing tour designed for bird watchers, taking visitors to Mabamba Bay swamp / also called Mabamba wetlands. Spot different birds, including the famous and rare shoebill stork which is the main attraction in this wetland.
Mabamba swamp offers a great opportunity to see shoebill stork more clearly than any other country where it is found (Rwanda, South Sudan and Zambia). Mabamba swamp is located on the fridges of Lake Victoria and it takes about 45 minutes – one hour boat cruise from Entebbe to the wetland.
Your day one Mabamba wetland tour will begin with breakfast in Entebbe town or Kampala and then the driver guide takes you to the landing site on Lake Victoria. The boat ride will take about an hour and then embark on another canoe ride which will take you through the wetland.
There is more to discover including reptiles, birds, amphibians and much more. Birds that will be spotted include Rufous-napped Lark, Sooty Chat, Grassland Pipit, Red-bellied Paradise-Flycatcher, Lizard Buzzard, cuckoos, weavers and much more. Have lunch and proceed with an evening bird-watching tour around Mabamba wetland.
The tour will end after a drop-off at either your hotel, airport or any other agreed point.
