Most important essentials needed when preparing to travel to Uganda for gorilla trekking;

Documentation.

Uganda is a friendly country but its alert on all the individuals that come into the country that’s why tourists shouldn’t miss packing their passports. A passport is paramount to the extent that it should be valid 6 months after getting into the country.

Other documentations needed to enjoy the beautiful Uganda include yellow fever vaccination certificate, covid- 19 vaccination certificate and other documents like gorilla, golden monkey, chimpanzee trekking permits depending on the booked tour package.

Clothing.

Uganda is a hot and dusty country generally therefore; its recommended tourists pack easy to wash clothes that are light enough, perfect for hot weather. The country still has regions that consider culture as a very important aspect of their life hence it is recommended that clothes should be around the knee length.

The days are hot but it’s surprising how nights can tend to freeze especially in areas that are elevated therefore tourists shouldn’t miss out on packing a well-fitting sweater or jacket to keep them warm.

Gadgets.

Travelling becomes more exciting after the memories last as though the activity was undertaken the previous day. This is among the most important instruments to be carried while heading for a safari in Uganda. Smart phones, cameras, binoculars, music players, iPad and other gadgets are very relevant and tourists shouldn’t miss carrying along the batteries as well or chargers for an endless shot.

Gorilla trekking is an activity that is highly exhilarating but the routes taken to watch the rare King Kongs while they are in their palaces are challenging and a weak-hearted individual might fail the task. It is so recommended that visitors dress in the following appropriate clothes before hitting the trail to spot these gems.

Water proof hiking boots.

Have you ever noticed that some shoes have thin soles to the extent that if you step on a stone, you feel it? Those should entirely be avoided in the jungle because they can even tear the feet of trekkers. The jungle is just trees, thorns therefore tourists should expect thorns, tree branches scattered everywhere hence thick water proof boots should be worn to prevent visitors from hurting their feet.

The activity is started off in the morning around 7 am with a briefing and since Bwindi is an elevated area, the morning hours and evening hours tend to be cold, therefore visitors shouldn’t assume that its going to be hot throughout.
